The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 还不错啦，这部剧里的歌挺好听的，最后男主女主的双向奔赴爱情很不错
。两星半 实在是太无聊了 还要两小时 。而且延展的故事可以发展好几条都没有深入。挑了一条最无聊的线。倒是是讲什么的啊 爱情 ？ 成长？
男主的眼睛总让人联想到佟大为！除了时长有点过，不过胜在细腻不狗血！
总而言之一句话，大过年的别去看
没能理解男女主结局的意义，安排刘浩存死亡的剧作动机在哪？我没有在之前的叙事中看到关于死亡、宿命等悲剧性铺垫。这些小镇青年当然有生存困境和精神枷锁，但并未明确指向时代洪流或阶级压迫，所以刘浩存撞向代表虚伪与资本的SUV这样的象征性结局会产生严重的语意偏差，寓意需要被强行解读才能出现。包括尹正游野泳被巨轮撞死，无非也是想表达小人物被时代碾压的意思，但在这样充满喜剧元素的轻快叙事节奏中显得非常突兀。而刘昊然飞跃失败对这个人物命运的作用又在哪里？他显然毫发无损，却要安排一场看起来比较严重的事故，不仅没有形成与刘浩存结局的对比，还令飞跃珠江这样的高潮沦为一个无效事件。冯绍峰和高利贷虽然担任了主角去广州的动机，但人物本身是多余的，顺风车的戏更多余。后半段叙事节奏几近失控
关于机车与梦想，阿耀这个角色真的挺打动人心，把对梦想的执着，对万物的热爱，暗恋的情愫和懵懂，一心一意想对欢颂的好，和小惊喜，演绎出了每个人的心境。关于海风与故乡，对奶奶的爱，对父亲的期待和失望，最后从城市中回到家乡，与过年的主题特别呼应。关于爱与哀愁，其实结局我还蛮意外，以为会是一个happy ending。结果却有些悲伤。这部电影有很多欢笑，也有很多遗憾，演员演技都特别棒。很推荐！
为什么内地就拍不出这样的青春片，没有堕胎，劈腿，强X，叛逆，自残，阳光正好一路随行，虽然我高中时期没有这样复杂的感情生活，但是能体会到那种暖洋洋，懵懂的荷尔蒙一点点跳动的感觉，青春不就该这样迷茫着，期待着，实现着么
真没那么差，大家只是期待一个无厘头的腾式贺岁片，不如排在暑期档
9分，这片子应该是当年我期待的《后会无期》的样子，可惜八年前的片子只有情绪，后来拍的两部片子也是越来越差，本以为这次是换了个摩托车继续捞快钱，没想到后劲这么大。伤感的情绪贯穿始终，段子只能稍微逗乐，戏谑和揶揄藏在不经意处，最盛大的场景有最深沉的孤独，热烈的爱却浅浅的表达，片尾雷光夏的歌更是直接让人泪崩。男主角只能是刘昊然来演，少年气又倔强的感觉，女主角我也想不到其他的人选能符合，刘浩存就是那种清纯又狡黠的感觉，可惜口碑崩了。
现在的人都不爱看“残酷青春”电影了。我上学那会大家最喜欢这种类型的了。小镇青年，海岛，公路，机车，女孩。。。这不就够了么！也就韩寒还在给他自己和那一代人拍这种电影。
仿佛是小学生写作文—一团乱七八糟，后半段明显开始摆烂，画面很美人也很美笑点还可以但也无法拯救稀巴烂的剧情，剧情之离奇转换之生硬人物之单薄令人难以相信，角色口中经常出现的莫名其妙不知所云又富有着不知道为什么要讲的哲理的台词，刘浩存太木了实在是
好美的青春啊，不断的和自己对话，共同的成长。我们的胃在一起，所以心连心啊，她们的胃好强大，吃遍美食身材还这么好。
说梦想吧，阿耀也没怎么努力想实现梦想。说爱情吧，两个小年轻在矫情文字里暧昧。说现实吧，收高利贷的和颜悦色，警察也很好糊弄。我宁愿延续前一半的喜剧风格，最后大团圆，而不是处处跳预言家…
刘浩存和刘昊然本来可以有一个光明的未来
半星。大概半小时开始，如坐针毡、如芒刺背、如鲠在喉。起初以为韩寒只是拧巴，毕竟一边喜欢保罗·纽曼，一边认同着金鳞岂是池中物，这并不多见。但很快你就发现，他为了圆自己心中那个飞跃黄河的机车梦，可以罔顾客观事实，例如呼啸海风、轰鸣隧道、铁道路旁，人声可以碾压环境音，例如邮轮之下，多数人竟能存活。信贷危机、追梦少年、飞车阴阳局、淳朴爱情，哪个部分扩展开来，都比这样的杂糅好太多。城市梦魇的结论，非但没有升华立意，反倒像是垂死挣扎。唯一让我没有离场的原因，是韩寒多少还在意的摄影环节里，看看刘昊然和刘浩存的角色谈谈每个人都曾幻想过，却难以接近的恋爱。

电影有点失望欸，Dcard的真实故事带来的心动和感动更大。电影为什么把当面坦白改成发短信，学长送手绘本到项微心家门口的信箱这段跟阿亮学长送相册手帐到小水家门口太像了吧……整部电影最感动我的竟然是大鹤告白那段，真的。
非要用两个小时才能说开吗。。。。而且女主还没刘品言好看
对了！有小嘉玲和嘉玲麻麻出镜，喜欢！
看到网上对四海的评价，不禁怀疑自己的审美是否也是格格不入。可我确能体会到韩寒的情怀，对山河，对故土，对放浪不羁人生的向往。故乡的云歌词里这样唱的“我曾经豪情万丈，回来却空空的行囊。”这种遗憾和惆怅感是我看了电影之后一直挥散不去的感情。孤独是人生的底色，阿耀的孤独，让我想起了自己在某个夏日的夜晚吹着空调散出来的冷风，想象着符合心中文艺调性的画面。我以前一直不能描述这种画面，电影却让我有如此似曾相识的感觉。四海这种自由的词语下，充满了无法按耐的梦想同时又有一种渺小感，而这些，我确实也在这部电影中感受到了。
