The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 与其说《云霄之上》是一部战争诗意电影，毋宁说它是关于地质学的影像。在此我们或许能想象一种地质诗学，当人物行走在岩石、山脉、地层、云雾和洞穴与田野中，来自地质与地层内部的强度与延波悄然渗入生命内部。这其中既涵盖无机物（地层与岩石），亦包含着有机物（蛇、飞鸟与人类），身体与岩石的相遇构成了着自然-历史的共振。可惜的是，就在这样一种无限广延的地质场域中，导演对于人物的拍摄却显现出一种典型的剧场化倾向，生硬的斯坦尼康与长镜头看似在塑造诗意氛围，但实际上却阻隔了人类-地质的联通互动，诸多人物对话的戏份生硬得像样板戏。这归根结底源自于导演对蒙太奇的粗暴摒弃，诗意从来不是长镜头的附属产品，这样一种狭隘的诗意观导致影片丧失了一种超验与超然的感知，蒙太奇并非诗意效果的绝缘体，相反，它是无尽的连接、交互与共振。
我觉得比其他笑星当导演拍的认真多了，剧本毛病不少，不过切入点还蛮好的。加一星

除了最后的升华这个地方扣一星之外。基本完美。
说实话有点意思 导演讲故事的技术还有待提升
很惊喜，节奏不错，故事也不俗套，两个遗憾，刀爷和男主爸爸的故事不完整，二手月季没唱一宿！！！！
碰巧看了两个同题材的电影，更喜欢这种用笑容诠释悲情的故事，埋了好多电影梗摇滚梗。以及片子里贼多东北老熟人。不过看到佳佳和子栋现在发福衰老，不禁感慨曾经爱笑会议室的年轻朝气。给长春取景加一星
剧情内核主题很明确，演员演技恰到好处，找的演员都是东北比较有口皆碑的。
还是挺欢乐的，作为喜剧我觉得合格。喜欢后面葬礼相认那段，还挺感人，觉得停在这里挺好的，最后去“救”人那段有点尴尬。
有想表达的东西，但是刑满释放人员重新进入社会的困难，罪犯的忏悔和救赎都没讲明白。主角和刀爷的重点故事也没挖掘透，没有一个人物塑造的完整饱满。但故事是个好故事，只不过需要雕琢。
看着不讨厌，不尴尬还有笑点的喜剧，就比很多作品好很多了
凑活看吧，如果放电影院，我是肯定不会花钱看的。
结构工整的合格喜剧片，上院线肯定扑，虽然话很刺耳，但是事实。希望佳佳能更进一步，中国电影要的不是合格网大，而是突破文化壁垒、面向全球的文化输出！
就冲着后半段只能打两星
没啥意思，浪费时间，什么时候能真正拍一部东北老百姓的真实故事呢，而不是这几个导演自我陶醉的用所谓的东北腔调进行一些恶俗的，不切实际的所谓搞笑，抹黑东北人的形象
枪都端不稳就别学人上战场。诗意？诗你妈了个。
2.6 学院迎合主流主旋律叙事，能看出有美学和类型技术上的追求，但还是很糟糕，尽管仍好于《长津湖》系列。
蛮真诚的东北喜剧，故事也讲得清清楚楚，价值观也挺正，就是人物情感没有做出来，没有调动起共情感，就很寡淡了。最后既然要反转刀爷赎罪，按道理前面就得建立和刀爷的情感。我也理解东北人那种死要面羞于矫情的性格，但也可以找个爷们儿的感情建立方式。不过作为网大，真不错。
很让人割裂的观影感受。一方面有关于逃兵、俘虏、军令的现实思考和死亡、匿名化、杀戮、虚无的残酷写照；另一方面整部影片又被导演极其个人的表达欲望（黑白、顺序、蒙太奇、方言）弄得晦涩难明支离破碎。只能说这样的战争视角总比那些每一发子弹都能消灭敌人、每个人面对死亡都无所畏惧、每次任务都能圆满完成的叙事更值得鼓励吧
这就是合家欢的网络大电影水平了，整挺热闹。
