The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 根据史实改编。两个角度去说，
米国严重的赤裸的种族歧视，深度唤醒有色人种内心深处的对自由的向往，对人权的向往。偏执己见的往往是那些自恃清高手握生杀大权的人。
自由的代价是一切。

苟且偷生易，振臂一呼難。今年目前為止最為超出觀影預期的小成本佳作，南非種族隔離議題，這份絕對低了。前半段鋪墊過長節奏問題挺大的，後四十分鐘逐漸才算精彩起來，直到最後一幕推向高潮而後戛然而止。沒有過多的渲染隔離制度下黑人處境多麼的淒慘，主要靠細節和演員狀態來向觀眾側面傳達議題，處理得非常的細膩克制。且曼德拉全片作為麥高芬存在，並未正式出場，甚至連照片都沒出現我是挺意外的。
本片取材于一起真实的案例，发生在南非的一起预谋破坏行动，因为失败而演变成劫持人质案，最终又转变成为一起争取种族民主自由运动。
自由的代价是一切。

真实事件改编，借一次所谓的恐怖事件，反映当时南非的种族黑暗……影片的细节刻画也很出色，人性的种种令人唏嘘。
但这类表达反抗的，种族歧视的，战争创伤的故事，却总是让我们不仅要反思，为什么我们会如此激动，为什么我们会感动或愤怒，时代明明在进步，可那些永无休止的问题为何却总是挥之不去，萦绕脑畔
