The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 当下经历的恐怖与过去的心理阴影并行。原本是不错的点子，男人的共同面孔和不同暴力形式，还有身体恐怖的生育戏都设计的不错，但摇摆在堆叠隐喻甚至明喻和做一部类型化的偏僻恐怖片之间，剧本完全是崩坏与稀烂，走女主内心线路使得Men之间的联系交代不充分。而影像方面很好看也有代入感，拍出了美丽到诡异的英伦农家庄园。
有点神秘，有点惊悚，有点爽。喜欢一些对男凝的反抗，杰西巴克利戏路越来越好了。
这部片和拉斯冯提尔的《忧郁》有异曲同工之妙。男性生育套娃和分裂开的左手引起严重生理不适。

这电影好用力，用力地想把观众整吐。强行又流于表面的符号化，完全没看到有任何深挖的想法，最后索性把这一堆东扯西扯的符号揉成一团，弄个套娃，再用最cult的方式呈现。视觉冲击有了，女性创伤议题也有了，笑死，完美收尾。
和《湮灭》一样，充满让人san值狂掉的克苏鲁场面。大爱加兰导演的风格。
和湮灭一脉相承的creepy。隐喻的意思到了，还是稍嫌老生常谈。
Ideology beside, it's a fucking good movie. Movie of the year for sure. Top top tier cinematography, sound design and acting. Kind of Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman at first, later fully dive into bizarre A24 uncanny valley. Alex Garland as the director: Ex Machina is good, but cheesy. Annihilation, fucking hate it. This one? Absolutely amazing.

抛却剧本/故事后的概念/设定先行 但也并非是影像化的 只是纯粹某种猎奇式的展现 将自然与男性嫁接在一起仍然在强调强和弱的二元对立 更是一种生态主义的滥用
尤其是最后面分叉手，象征着控制与欲望
