The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 夏目是一段长长的故事，每个存在都有背后的温柔，是我们情感的来处与去处。年轻时候，总想着漫长的午后，无忧无虑的日子，没有错误没有疲惫，有探索世界的勇气与热情。
好久没看了，主要是被治愈给治愈腻歪了。但是能拍出 “哎，今天放学不小心碰到个小鬼儿/小妖怪，跟他唠得不错”这种氛围的，也就是霓虹津了。
夏目的戏份有点少啊，参与感也不强，不过第二个故事里夏目和田沼的感情一如既往的感人。【9.0】
夏目果然具有某种特殊的魔力吧。

越来越低龄傻白了。每次新作都一如既往让夏目重复那些孤独但温暖的独白+穿插回忆杀，这么多年了，只能让人觉得一点成长都没有，恰情怀吃相有点难看哦。all夏的cp炒烂了，开始给田沼安cp了吗，刻意卖腐、太尬了。编剧江郎才尽，两个平庸寡淡的TV小故事凑一起就好意思叫做剧场版？【黑田崇矢声音真好听 过去几季加起来台词都没这么多 加一星】
我觉得很感人的就是夏目想和猫咪老师一起走地道，还有田沼对三筱的感情。三筱人形好高啊555

不是所有强大的人都有同理心。夏目的温柔，是面对弱小毫无保留的关怀。
觉得自己又丑又弱小的唤石者心想不能辜负大人对渺小的自己的期待，无助又顽强地坚持到祠堂门口，虔诚地叫醒大人，得到了大人严厉又温柔的肯定与嘉奖…
唤石者和可疑的来访者。三条真的是非常温柔，善良的妖怪啊，虽然用着马的身体，长着马脸，身体还很巨大，看起来有点怕怕的，但是为了不让朋友附身到田沼要的身体伤害到人类，就算被夏目误会也要坚持来找田沼要。最后让朋友想起了自己的初心。都是非常温柔友善的人。嘤嘤嘤。马脸三条变成灰发男人时候好帅哦。田沼要被妖怪附身时候不是害怕，而是非常开心自己能看到了和夏目看到的一样的东西。呜呜，心酸又感动。
一如既往的治愈。第一个故事讲的弱小而强大，第二个讲的强大而弱小
那只猫很眼熟，原来它叫猫咪老师；BGM也很耳熟，来自《夏目友人帐》；

外滩18号，两个大相径庭的女宁面面相觑，恭候这个自以为老懂女宁额上海囡宁多时——用轻松幽默、四两拨千斤的调性论述两性关系的争议主题，颇有看点。缺点是插曲多，有滴乌苏。
对徐峥刮目相看(更多是导演的功劳)，终于演了一部严肃的电影，每个人物都很立体。私房菜变大锅饭，野猫吃剩饭，文化人讲话就是不一样。这给中年男人的耳光打得又响又灵。
夏目里傲娇的角色这么多，还不让人讨厌，作者也是厉害。
我已经过了看夏目就会感动的年纪了，现在只觉得无动于衷，甚至略感矫情做作。
虽然是一个简单的得到任务要坚守任务去完成的故事，挺温馨的。。。治愈，对得起自己的使命
夏目不再是新的作品，而是那种温柔的记忆的唤起和怀念。
