The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 到最后2.75倍速都不够... 青春疼痛文学也算不上，女二是温柔，女一是病态，女一就是因为别人被动接受才有快乐感受... 然后家庭矛盾没解决，情感问题顿生？算了，不探讨了... 这样日本人口确实会继续下降的
前期节奏好拖沓，而且和后面完全是两种剧情啊。奶奶好善良，日和好可爱，结的爸爸是什么东西
山田mm很可爱，感觉像是为她量身打造的片子。男主一家完全是为了忖托啦啦主题搞来的配件吧～
故事的核心是温暖的，只是没有足够好的形式表现出来
很温馨可爱的片子，画风很精致，特别是自然风景；能看出来主题是对灾后幸存的人的鼓励，灾难之后生存很辛苦，每个人都有积极与消极的两面；片子里好多“妖怪”之物，喜欢这个设定，就像夏目一样，大家都很可爱*٩(๑´∀`๑)ง*
但整体有点无聊
拍摄手法很喜欢，保持着疏离，尤其是用全景拍小爱爬窗户那段，嚣张跋扈的。在教室里和即若君说不想就这样成为陌生朋友那段也是，表情和たとえ君的反应。但女女在一起不能让我共情。剧情一直到看第二封信前我都很喜欢。新藤和たとえ的恋情有种日本美学，病痛共同相爱。たとえ是特意画了黑眼圈吗。
女主的性格非常鲜明，强势病娇自私自恋自负情绪化混合出很有记忆点的人设。男主在原生家庭一言难尽的情况下依然保持了清醒自律的品性，这样一个与同龄男相比显得很超脱的男生，被女主女二同时倾慕。就如同简介所说的“三角关系”，本来男主和女二双箭头，可是女主偏要勉强，是女主采取的过激行动引发了命运齿轮的转动。从女主虛情假意接近女二开始，从女二以为是友情而欣喜接受开始，无论出发点是什么从她们接受对方身体开始就注定了结局。整部影片，从女主为女二人工呼吸开始，到女主冲进女二教室结束，最初与最终的对手戏都是她们两人。以及，一直给男主写手写信的女二，最后写手写信的对象变成了女主。而女主读完那封信后就采取了行动。这部影片仿佛在说，要忠于身体的直觉。
山田气场所带来的氛围感非常奇妙……剧里摇摆不定，难辨真假的情绪也非常有趣
宁静的氛围之下还有日本古老的故事，石狮子、大佛都活过来了，各种奇妙的事物让人觉得很有脑洞很奇幻。主旨有点浅显，人物的画风普通但是风景和音乐做的很好，瑕不掩瑜。
前半段：治愈！可爱！画风美美美！
还有一个就是对于家人的理解，后面强调了日结作为继承人的存在，和前面铺垫的一家人情绪有点冲突，让我咯噔一下。
还行，我以为会很治愈结果也没有很治愈到我，但是最开始奶奶和妹妹的相遇我很喜欢，奶奶说一路上辛苦了我瞬间落泪

前半段现实主义，后面突然进入妖怪的世界，完全割裂。节奏冗长，高潮戏大战竟然瞬间结束，过于简单
看了在雨后小旅馆里，美雪和男友十指紧扣在一旁深情对视，小爱独自一人坐在床尾的样子觉得特别难受。真的不懂这算什么事。柏拉图牵手秀恩爱？如果有人能解释得通这一幕的含义是什么我可能会再把评分改改。
颜值都不咋样，行为都难以理解，三个人都很欠打！
