新西兰制造的祖孙电影，但除了兰普林的存在之外乏善可陈。题材本可以是演员息影的绝佳告别之作，但这个剧本远不够好，怡情小酒而已。以临死之人回首青春的遐思静静回顾昔日影像，电影角色离经叛道的传奇一生和演员波澜起伏的银幕历程互为镜像造就恰如其分的「老去」终点意味（也因典型气质毫无挑战），影片刻意追求的感伤多半来自她的魅力赋予想象，此外每个情节和意象都是陈词滥调。平静求死的渴望和继续生活的勇气在最后的日出落下收尾音符。这次你素未谋面，令人生畏的祖母不会不由分说就拿高姆刺测试你的潜能，而是直接往你脸上砸玻璃杯，你说I got expelled, 她回以I’m proud of you. 没有一处转折不能被预料，然而还是会被乡村风光和自然演绎勾动的情绪触发泪点，葬礼上的Haka和火光边的拥舞让人泪流不止。
先说剧情，动漫版的因为是好几年前看到，所以剧情隐隐约约还大概记得一些，感觉电影版的添加了其他的一些剧情，但是整体不差。
片如其名地土，古早死人纯爱套路。情节铺陈过长，配角塑造明显强于主角，若月佑美的妆造十分清丽。
