The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 带来惊喜的一个前传，能看成是杰洛特的师傅的外传，解释了人、术士、怪物、猎魔人之间的纠葛。好几个大型AOE魔法的效果可圈可点。

网飞的东西时长一上去总是这样，你说好看吧，技术力非常高，打眼一看非常惊艳。但你就是不敢深究细想，一细想，就破功了。
作为维瑟米尔的故事一定程度弥补了剧集动作场面的不足，且作为巫师粉丝向的动画电影已经足够了，很让人满足。
